About the event

GENESIS: The Journey from Hispaniola to Haiti is a powerful and immersive dance production that traces Haiti’s extraordinary origin story—from the time of the Taínos to the birth of the first Black republic in 1804. This journey unfolds through choreographed pieces that delve into the realities of colonization, slavery, resistance, and revolution.

Each scene is brought to life through dynamic performances by dancers and actors, with thoughtful set design, striking costumes, and evocative storytelling. The show invites the audience to witness the pivotal moments that shaped Haiti’s path to freedom: the unbreakable spirit of the enslaved, the unity that sparked revolution, the courageous battles for liberation, and the triumph that led to the creation of the Haitian flag.

More than just a dance performance, GENESIS is a heartfelt tribute to Haiti’s resilience, culture, and enduring legacy—an experience designed to educate, uplift, and inspire.
